Privacy for WorkingTidal.ca and Eddy

Effective date: March 11, 2026

This page summarizes our strong commitment to your privacy and how we handle your personal information.

If you need a privacy contact, reach us at support@workingtidal.ca.

In plain language

The Eddy app does not collect any personal information beyond what is necessary to confirm your subscription status.

No personal information is collected or shared with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purposes. Full stop.

If you contact us for help, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, screenshots, request IDs, install IDs, and support details.

That’s it! You can read the technical details below but it’s just that simple.

What we collect

The Eddy app generates a stable install ID on the device, stores entitlement state locally, and sends the install ID to the WorkingTidal entitlement service when subscription access is checked.

If you purchase or restore access through Google Play, the app may send the Google Play purchase token, package name, product ID, app version, and atlas edition year to the entitlement service so the subscription can be verified.

If you enable location features, the app can access device location and heading to show your position and orientation on the map. This location use is for in-app functionality only, it is not stored or transmitted for analytics or any other purpose.

If you contact us for help, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, screenshots, request IDs, install IDs, and support details.

How we use it

We use subscription and install information to verify access, issue offline entitlement leases, troubleshoot entitlement problems, and support beta access when applicable.

We use optional location information to provide map and orientation features inside the app when you turn those features on.

We use support messages to answer questions, investigate issues, and improve the product.

Third parties

Google Play handles billing, purchase records, and subscription lifecycle details for Android purchases. Their terms and privacy practices apply to those parts of the transaction.

Our website and support tooling may also involve standard hosting, email, and infrastructure providers as needed to operate the service.

Your choices

You can choose whether to enable location permissions. You can also manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play, and you can contact us to ask privacy questions using the address below.

If you want us to review or delete support emails or other direct-contact records you have sent us, contact us and describe the request clearly enough for us to identify the record.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we do, we’ll revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information. Your continued use of the app after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

If we make significant changes that materially affect your rights or how we use your data, we’ll make reasonable efforts to bring them to your attention

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
